Toora father to walk from Coolangatta to Toora

TOORA father of four Craig Tanner is planning to walk 2,500km to raise funds for pediatric brain cancer research and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Craig will set off from Coolangatta on McHappy Day, Saturday October 14th, before arriving home in Toora two months later.

Craig’s 11-year-old son Aaron was diagnosed with a brain tumor in September 2016. Since the diagnosis, the South Gippsland based family has spent long periods away from home to support Aaron while he received treatment in Melbourne. Ronald McDonald House Parkville became the family’s home away from home during this difficult period, providing the family with 298 nights of free accommodation.

Aaron has recently been declared as cancer free, and Craig is determined to give back to the causes that supported his family through a difficult time. The walk will take him across three states in just over two months.
