LOCAL business Waratah Bay Ice Cream Co, whose ice cream has occupied the freezers of so many South Gippsland families and holiday makers for the past three years, has recently added some more awards to their collection.

Their two new flavours, Cape Liptrap Koala Berry and Darby River Sludge, won silver and gold respectively in this year’s Dairy Industry Association of Australia, Australian Dairy Product Competition Awards, Premium Ice Cream category. This follows on from the original 5 flavours all winning either gold or silver medals in the 2020 and 2021 awards.

In addition to the gold medal, Darby River Sludge also won the Sensient National Award for Best Ice Cream and the IFF National Award for Best Frozen Product, meaning we have the best ice cream in Australia in 2022 right on our doorstep.

In the words of one of the awards sponsors, “…..you guys have really taken the game up to the big brands this year. They will certainly know who you are now”.
