Step up as others step down

• Robert Paragreen and Peter Clyne encourage new people to join committee.

THE beautiful Foster War Memorial Art Centre is looking for volunteers.

“Not much is required of the committee members,” said long time committee Treasurer, Rob Paragreen.

“We only meet six times a year. We are a section 86 committee and run the hall for the South Gippsland Shire Council.”

The funds that are raised through hiring out the hall are funnelled back into it with a new verandah out the back being one of the latest projects.

“When we did the extension to the foyer we also had a sculpture, a mandela and a stained glass window installed,” said committee President Peter Clyne.

He has also been a member for many years and both he and Rob are hoping that new residents to the area who have made the tree/sea change might take an interest in this outstanding building.

There are multiple purpose built rooms for hire including a conference room, kitchen, meeting rooms and of course the hall itself with its enormous polished floorboards and stage.

Nominations close at 5.00 pm on Monday 17th July 2017 and must be lodged with the Chief Executive Officer by mail, Private Bag Leongatha 3953 or email, [email protected], or with the current Secretary of the Committee ([email protected]) prior to or at the Annual General Meeting to be held at The Senior Citizens Room of FWMAC on Monday 17th July 2017.
