Prom Country Aged Care signs contract for new building

PROM Country Aged Care Inc. has signed the contract with chosen builder ADCO Constructions for the development of its new 60-bed aged care facility in Foster.

Following a very competitive tender process, Prom Country Aged Care Inc. selected ADCO because of its strong history of quality health and aged care project delivery. With a range of projects successfully delivered across these sectors, Prom Country Aged Care Inc. is confident that ADCO will deliver a quality, state-of-the-art facility for the Corner Inlet community.

ADCO Constructions is a leading Australian construction company with a success built on the consistent delivery of high quality projects completed on time and on budget. Its business is supported by a large network of subcontractors, suppliers and consultants enabling them to provide innovative construction solutions for its clients.

The plan is that local contractors and trades will be employed at every opportunity.

Mr David Rix, Victorian Manager for ADCO, said: “We are delighted to be selected as builders of this new state-of-the-art facility and look forward to working with our local contractors on this fantastic community project.”

Following the signing of the contract, Corner Inlet residents can soon expect to see some activity at the building site as the project enters this exciting new phase. It is expected that this project will also assist in creating employment within the local community as ADCO engages local contractors and trades to assist in the construction process.

Mr Rix added, “Our project teams understand the unique requirements for delivering health care related projects. They understand the building process involved and are highly skilled at the coordination, delivery and commissioning of the specialist services components inherent to health related project delivery.”

“Our residents and staff are all very keen to see the start of this project and eagerly await each new milestone as it arrives,” said the chief executive officer of Prom Country Aged Care Inc, Claire Schmierer. “We will be providing regular updates on our website at www.promcountryagedcare.com.au which will include the building’s progress and fundraising achievements.”

The first sod will be turned at the building site in O’Connell Road (off Station Road), Foster, this Friday, September 7 at 11am. The public is warmly invited to join in celebrations of the start of the building of the new facility, which will be followed by a free sausage sizzle.
