Hospital team getting on their bikes to raise funds

THE South Gippsland Hospital team of twenty-eight riders and seven support crew leave this Friday for the Murray to Moyne relay cycling event.

They plan to ride from Swan Hill to Port Fairy in relays over 24 hours.

The team is now dedicating the ride to their team member Mike Christian, who tragically passed away a few weeks ago while on a training ride. They will be wearing black armbands during the event as a tribute to Mike.

“The support from the community has been great, with many people donating to the team’s fundraising efforts,” said team member Nicole Wake. “So far we have purchased an automatic defibrillator for the community health centre.”

Anyone who would like to donate can do so in person at the hospital or through the South Gippsland Hospital website.
