HAZMAT attends gas leak in Foster

fire brigade

A gas leak from a vehicle was safely dealt last Sunday by the Leongatha HAZMAT Unit, Foster and Toora CFA units.

The Foster CFA attended a call-out last Sunday when gas was found to be leaking from a car as it filled up at the BP Service Station in Toora Road.

The gas, in liquid form, pooled on the concrete.

The Foster CFA unit attended and covered the liquid gas with water while waiting for back-up from Toora CFA.

A team of CFA members pushed the car away from the service station onto Nelson Street, keeping the gas controlled with water until the HAZMAT Gas Flare-off Unit arrived from Leongatha, and safely burned off the excess gas.
