Fun fete a fabulous fundraiser

EASTER Sunday proved to be the perfect day for Foster Primary School’s Family Fete. The local community turned out in droves, along with many of the people holidaying in the district over the Easter weekend.

“It was brilliant!” declared school principal Lorraine Gurnett, reporting that a profit of around $15,000 was made. She thanked the many people who contributed to the success of the day. The money will go towards the purchase of a wide variety of equipment, as approved by the Parents and Friends Group, to improve educational outcomes at the school.

The fete was organised with military precision and heaps of artistic flair over many months by a talented group of parents and friends of the school, led by Lian Casson and Wil Pruyn. Other organisations as well as individuals also contributed enormously through sponsorship, donations or sheer hard work, making the fete a true community event.

A fantastic fundraiser, the fete had variety and style and, as the accompanying photos show, it was heaps of fun!
