Fun and debate at Buffalo trivia night

• “Whistle While You Work” team members, the Timmins family and friends,
won first prize at the 2023 Buffalo Community Centre trivia night.
• Buffalo Community Centre trivia night quizmaster Sean Linehan.

THERE was a lot of fun, plenty of tricky questions and even a bit of debate about some of the answers at the Buffalo Community Centre’s annual trivia night fundraiser on Friday November 10, 2023.

Around 90 people joined in the fun and challenge of six rounds of trivia – a great mix of seasoned competitors along with many new faces.

The questions were posed by volunteer host, Sean Linehan, who once again did a wonderful job of entertaining the crowd.

There were some contentious answers and debate sparked, especially in the “Disney” round!

Reigning trivia champs “Les Quizerables”, consisting of Polettis and Bucklands, walked away second best this year, defeated by ”Whistle While You Work” team members, the Timmins family and friends.

“Quizzing My Pants”, comprising local Gippsland Veterinary Group staff, came an honourable third.

Congratulations to all participating teams; it’s always good to have some close competition!

Thanks to generous support from local businesses; Pennicotts Wilderness Journeys, Amber Creek Farm, Gippsland Vet Group, Berrys Creek Gourmet Cheese, Ag Warehouse Dumbalk, Prom Coast Hardware at Fish Creek, Long John Pickles, Moos at Meeniyan, Lacys Jewellers, Meeniyan IGA, Brown Wigg Meeniyan and Pandesal Bakery Meeniyan, this event raised about $800 for the Buffalo Community Centre.

The hall committee was thrilled with not only the financial result, but also the event’s ability to bring together new and old locals for a fun night out.

It’s great to see our community come together and we look forward to more events in years to come.
