THE brand new website foster.vic.au is already attracting interest, reportedly from as far away as the Congo!
The Foster Chamber of Commerce and Industry has built the website, which features Foster and the Corner Inlet district, with the help of South Gippsland Shire Council.
The chamber commissioned local web designer Andris (Andy) Dinsbergs of Loud Mountain Web Design to design the website and he has done a fine job.
“The aim is to attract more people to this region, which will be good for business – and the community,” said Linda Giddy, who is managing the project. “foster.vic.au promotes this area as a great place to live, work and play.”
The website gives people access to current, reliable information that they could spend a lifetime searching for – and possibly not find. Up until now much of the information about this district has tended to be very fragmented, incomplete and all-too-often outdated.
“Through this website we’re providing the first ever one-stop shop of quality information, that includes a business directory, houses and businesses for sale, schools, medical services, community organisations, what’s on, things to do and places to go – and more,” said Linda.
“Importantly, to encourage members of our local community to use the site, we have provided a FREE classified ads section, where employers and job seekers, buyers and sellers can find each other.
“What’s more, the website can be translated into more than 50 languages – instantly and free of charge – so people everywhere can learn about this area – and the businesses that serve it.
“We’re hoping that www.foster.vic.au will become a key place for people to seek information about this district, whether they are local residents, people planning a holiday or contemplating a move.”
Local businesses – and others servicing the district – can showcase their services for a whole year for just $50 – less than $1 a week! Premium listings and feature ads on the home page are also available at very attractive rates.
An early bird discount is being offered for businesses registering before Friday October 15.
Local businesses and community groups are invited to attend the launch of the website at the Rhythm Cafe next Monday at 5.30 pm. Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to Linda Giddy on 0418 637 034 or email [email protected]
