Foster rated the most welcoming town … again

EIGHTY six per cent of riders on the Great Victorian Bike Ride voted for Foster as the most welcoming town.

“How good are these stats!” said one of the many organisers, Dana Hughes.

“It just shows the power of community and cooperation.

“Community groups, local businesses and Council worked together to create a great outcome. It’s quite inspiring. I wonder what else we can do together?”

Riders were asked “what do you particularly remember about this town”?

  • 42% local community
  • 15% entertainment
  • 13% cafes
  • 12% pubs
  • 9% other
  • 4% safe roads
  • 3% tourist attractions
  • 2% restaurants

“The community, stall holders and working group you should all be very proud of your accomplishments,” said South Gippsland Shires Tourism Development Officer, Danielle Todaro.

“It was a fantastic day, and this is certainly evident in the post rider report. All your hard work certainly paid off.”

Danielle went on to say that it was an awesome achievement and thanked everyone who took the time to help on the day.
