Foster North ‘altercation’ leads to murder charge

An ‘altercation’ in the Foster North area allegedly involving a missing 21-year-old Rosebud man has led to a 25-year-old Korumburra man being charged with murder.

Victoria Police Missing Person Squad detectives have charged the man in relation to the suspicious disappearance of Jake Bradford, who was reported missing by his mother on January 29, 2023.

His disappearance is being treated as questionable and is still under investigation by the Missing Persons Squad.

Local police have conducted a number of enquiries following the report about Mr Bradford, including several public appeals for assistance.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said that investigators believe Mr Bradford became involved in an altercation in the Foster North area on or around Tuesday January 24, 2023.

The Korumburra man was arrested on Sunday March 5, 2023 before being charged with one count of murder.

He was remanded in custody and appeared before Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on Monday March 6, 2023. Anyone with any other information regarding Mr Bradford’s disappearance is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
