Farmers’ market with Christmas cheer

CHRISTMAS is being celebrated at the Prom Country Farmers’ Market this Saturday, December 18.

The market will be having lucky customer raffles at its regular monthly event held at the Foster War Memorial Arts Centre. As a thank you to shoppers, raffle winners will be given produce vouchers from participating stallholders. Santa may even have time to make a visit.

This is the ideal pre-Christmas opportunity to select special fresh produce direct from producers and growers in the friendly atmosphere of Prom Country Farmers’ Market.

This month will see the return of Bob’s fresh potatoes, direct from his farm. This year’s wet conditions have delayed many vegetable crops, although garlic is now available.

Every month the market reflects the changing seasons with the produce on offer. As far as possible the market promotes local organic, chemical and preservative free production for environmental, nutritional and health benefits.

Held on the third Saturday every month, from 8am to 12 noon, the farmers’ market at Foster (inside the hall if the weather is inclement, in the grounds outside if it is fine) gives the best fresh local produce options at very reasonable prices.

If you have a different product to add to the market mix, contact Juneen Schulz, mobile 0427 809 509.
