Defibrillator installed at Mount Best

THE Mount Best Community Hall is pleased to advise that we now have a Defibrillator installed at the hall (5 Mount Best Tin Mine Road Mount Best / Toora North) which is available 24/7 This is inside a box in the front of the hall.

This unit will also be registered with Ambulance Victoria so it will show up on their web page and also the operator will be able to give you the closes location of a unit to your location.

The committee would like to thank our major sponsor Bendigo Community Bank Toora and Foster and South Gippsland Shire Council (small grants) to go towards the purchase of this unit. We would also like to thank Randy Trayler from RST Group for the donation of the box to hold the unit.

This unit will go a long way to helping the Mount Best and surrounding area should there be a person in need.

The committee was aware that we could not obtain a unit via Ambulance Victoria as there is a very low call out for heart attacks up here. But if you need a unit and ring for an ambulance, if you are lucky it maybe in Foster and take about 30 -40 minutes to get here, longer if away from Foster. Now we have a unit here it can be used to save a life.

You may think that the colours are a bit odd, but they can be seen in both day light and at night if you have even a small light. The vinyl used for the graphics is in reflexed white (same as road signs)  as the hall is not lilt by street lighting or other lighting around it.

If you require the unit in an emergence please use it but do not forget to ring 000 as they will send an ambulance to you and also help you with the use of the unit.

Most of all we hope that it is never used.
