Children’s Centre opens in Foster

UNITING Care Gippsland’s Prom Coast Centre for Children in Pioneer Street, Foster, began welcoming children for childcare and kindergarten last week.

Kindergarten director Suzanne Anderson said staff and children were enjoying settling into the new facility, with the first few days happily spent exploring the beautiful new space.

Kindergarten sessions for three-year-olds are held on Tuesdays, and sessions for four-year-olds on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Childcare, including after-school and after-kinder care, as well as long day care, is offered at the centre Mondays to Fridays from 7.30am to 6pm. There are still some places available most days, but they are filling fast. The children are fully supervised by trained and friendly staff, including Kate Boag, Melissa Corry, Ashleigh Morris and Jamie Williams.

Purpose built to accommodate a range of services for children and families, the centre also houses maternal and child health care – under  Marg Barter – and is now the base for the Bushlink mobile toy library.
