Celebrating our love of Foster

IN the year 2020 we are celebrating 150 years of a continuous community at Foster. It’s a great excuse for a party and one we will make span the whole year.

Foster Community Association is co-ordinating the planning and has an eleven-strong group already building activities for a year that will respect and understand our past, showcase our present and look forward to the future. We are establishing a calendar of events and will be contacting all community groups soon to invite them to consider something special in 2020. What we need now is a name and a logo – we need to brand the year. And the best way to generate it is to ask you, our community!

We’d love to have one of our community members create our brand for celebrating 2020, so, we are having a competition. It’s open to anyone within South Gippsland. It could be an individual, family, school group or team. Submissions must be received by email to [email protected] by 5.00pm Thursday March 29th. The winning design will be announced mid April. There is no cost to enter and the prize is to be recognised as the designer of the brand that will carry our celebrations.

The following words have been used to describe the vision we have for our 150th birthday – entertaining, celebration, appreciation, understanding of past, beautiful productive environment, embracing the feeling we have, embracing the strengths of Foster, looking to the future, welcoming of all, inclusiveness, acknowledging all, green, education and involvement. We are looking for a logo, a name and a tagline that we can use in all the communications about our celebrations in 2020. It must be suitable for online and print and the tagline should resonate with how we identify with Foster.

If you have any questions or would like us to talk about our plans, please contact the Foster Community Association on [email protected]
