Busy long weekend

 

NEXT weekend is the Labour Day long weekend which sees plenty of activities going on around Corner Inlet.

THE Welshpool Flower Show will be held on Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10 at the Welshpool Hall. Visitors are welcome from 1.30pm – 5pm on Friday and 10am – 4pm Saturday.

FOSTER & District Historical Society Inc. have their official opening of their new exhibition “The Franklin River – Mountain to Sea” and the launch of “The Power of Water”, a new history by author and local historian Neil Everitt about the hydro-electric scheme developed on the Franklin River in the early 1900s.

It will be held on Saturday, March 10 at 10.30am at the museum in Foster.

FRIENDS of Toora Heritage Pear Orchard are holding their 7th Pear Party on Sunday, March 11 at the Heritage Pear Orchard commencing at 10am until 4pm.

FROM 12 noon the Ladbrokes Stony Creek Cup will be held on Sunday also with Fashions on the Field and a great day’s racing.

There will be plenty of activities for all the family.

ON Sunday its the Promontory Produce and Craft Market at the Foster Showgrounds which is always a “must do” event run by the local service clubs.

With over 200 stalls around the Foster oval, it’s always a good social morning which runs until mid afternoon.
