Black Spur update from Regional Roads Victoria

WE’RE removing nine sharp bends and reducing the length of the highway from 3.4km to 2.3km between Old Koonwarra-Meeniyan Road and Minns Road.

We’re also building two new bridges over the Tarwin River and a new underpass for the Great Southern Rail Trail.

Construction is underway and is expected to be complete in 2022.

Due to recent rain the highway will continue to be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic, controlled by traffic lights, until Wednesday, September 30.

Weather permitting, the traffic management will be in place on weekdays between 7.00am and 5.30pm.

From  Monday, August 24 motorists may also expect short delays on the highway to allow trucks to transport dirt from one side to the other, as we start the earthworks to build retaining walls and create the foundations of the new road.If you have any questions about the works, please call 1800 105 105 or email [email protected]
