Attempted break-in

STAFF of the Foster Community House and Neighbourhood Learning Centre are mystified at the interest being shown in the centre by would-be thieves. They stress that they work for a not-for-profit organisation that performs a community service and there is next to nothing of significant value on site.

An attempt was made overnight last Wednesday to break into the centre on the corner of Station Road and Court Street, by forcing a window. This attempt was unsuccessful. It followed another attempt the week before, carried out via another window. That time the offender or offenders managed to get into the premises, but were presumably disturbed by the very loud alarm system and decamped before anything was stolen.

Police are investigating and appeal to the public to notify them if they have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the community house.
