THE Buffalo Community Centre had a wonderful show of old and new faces at the Buffalo Bush BBQ held on Sunday July 16, 2023.

About 100 people turned up to meet and mingle with their fellow community members over a free barbecue lunch put on by the  Buffalo Hall committee.

An extensive country music playlist was drowned out by the hum of chatter and excited kids.

Sack races and a scavenger hunt led up the pinnacle event, which was smashing the pinata! The future is bright for Buffalo with lots of young, have-a-go kids as part of our population.

The kids had the honour of drawing the raffle, the major prize being a CargoLite bike valued at $499.

Congratulations to the winners: 1st Ash Symmons, 2nd Lachy Bell, 3rd Alirra Kavanagh, 4th Susan Poletti, 5th Jarrad Byrnes.

A special thanks to the community members and local businesses that supported our raffle by donating prizes. They were the Meeniyan IGA, Sandy Point General Store, Ag Warehouse, Moo’s at Meeniyan, Prom Meats and the Meeniyan Hotel.

It was fantastic to see a happy and welcoming community come together to raise funds for their local hall, with raffle ticket sales resulting in $382 to put towards essential hall expenses.

We look forward to sharing the hall with the Buffalo and neighbouring communities for many events to come.
