Your chance to question South Gippy Council candidates in online forum

All candidates running for election to South Gippsland Shire Council in the upcoming elections are invited to participate in a series of online Meet the Candidate Forums, hosted by Deb Leonard.

This is a community event for everyone – Deb would like to invite all of your members to come along, hear from candidates, and ask them direct questions before they vote!

The forums will provide an opportunity for voters to hear directly from candidates about their visions and plans for their respective wards, and for our region.

Deb Leonard is the independent candidate for Monash in the next Federal election. She believes strongly that informed voting is the key to democracy working properly at every level of government.

“Hearing directly from candidates better equips us to make the best choices at the,” Deb said. “I feel it is so important to encourage community engagement at all levels of politics, and facilitate connection between community and decision makers.”

Each ward will have its own dedicated forum, scheduled as follows:

During each session, candidates will deliver a brief presentation outlining their objectives as potential councillors.

Following the presentations, audience members will have the chance to ask questions directly to the candidates.  The forum will also be recorded for those that cannot attend.  Deb said that these online forums open up accessibility to those who cannot travel to in person events or have other commitments that prevent them from attending.

Registration is essential to participate or receive a recording of the event. You can register at: https://events.humanitix.com/host/deb-leonard or via the QR Code.

Deb makes clear that although she is a candidate for federal election this is not a campaign event and council  candidates attending the forum are in no way endorsing Deb for the federal election.
