Solar appeal hits 80 per cent, thanks to Foster Pharmacy

A MAJOR gift of $5000 by a leading local business, Foster Pharmacy, has catapulted South Gippsland Hospital’s Solar Project Appeal tally over the 80 per cent mark.

Pharmacy partners Ms Jane McGovern and Mr Chi Keung Chiu said the hospital is a part of so many people’s lives here and we are lucky to have this facility in our community.  They felt it was important to support the Appeal, especially with its goal to direct more ongoing funds to clinical care.

Hospital Board member and also a local business owner, Jan Bull thanked Jane and Chi on behalf of the hospital for their significant contribution and said while gifts of every size are greatly appreciated, the Honour Board list of those who have given one or more ‘panels’ is getting longer and longer.

Chief Executive Officer Peter Rushen said, “It has been an exciting week, and with the success of the Appeal so far we have been in a position to complete stage one, the solar hot water system. We are also well on the way to our fundraising target for stage two, the solar electricity component, and we are hoping to make it in time to take advantage of the long summer days.”

Donations can be made directly to the hospital, on line at http://southgippslandhospital.org.au/donate/ or through the hospital’s letterbox appeal.
