Prom Country Aged Care (PCAC) is a community-based residential aged care service which was established in 1985 to meet the needs of people in the Prom Coast district.
PCAC is registered as an incorporated association and its voluntary Board of Management is drawn from the organisation’s membership base, which represents a cross-section of the community. PCAC provides low and high care ageing in place residential services at our new home in O’Connell Road, Foster. PCACs reputation for high quality, home-like residential aged care makes this the #1 choice for a growing number of people seeking permanent residential accommodation or short-term respite care.
Our brand new home opened in late 2013
Following years of hard work and commitment by our local community, our new 60-bed state-of-the-art aged care facility – Prom Country House – is finally up and running. The building, designed by architects ClarkeHopkinsClarke is single storey comprising three, 20-bed modules. All residents’ rooms have their own ensuites, internet and telephone ports, and are equipped to take overhead tracking for lifting should this be required. Residents are now able to ‘age in place’; that is, they will never have to move, regardless of changes to their care needs. A “special needs” wing has also been designated to cater for residents with extra high care needs, including advanced dementia. Each 20-bed module has its own internal courtyard with a special feature, such as an aviary, gazebo or fountain. Special lifestyle features include the flexible recreational areas, incorporating the Cinema/Family Dining Room, Reflection/Library Room, Coffee Lounge and Bar, consulting room and hairdressing room.
