Serious Fall at Waratah Bay

WORKSAFE is investigating an accident at Waratah Bay in which a painter was thrown from a cherry picker and received spinal injuries.

The incident occurred at about 9am last Friday, when the 41-year-old Traralgon man, subcontracted to paint a house in Iluka Court, was in the bucket of a cherry picker, working on the second storey. The cherry picker was mounted on a trailer, apparently on uneven ground. It toppled over and the painter was thrown from the bucket. He was found by a neighbour some minutes later.

An ambulance was called and the man was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne with spinal injuries. Police from Foster also attended the accident scene.

Speeding Fine

A 19-YEAR-OLD man from Yanakie received a fine of $239 and three demerit points when he was intercepted driving above the speed limit on the Prom Road at Foster on Sunday evening.
