LAST Thursday Foster Rotarians Rod Lomax and Bruce Standfield presented past member Leonie Clyne with Rotary’s highest award, a Paul Harris Fellowship, for service to the community.
Leonie took on the presidency of the Foster Rotary Club in 2019/2020 in a reluctant manner, however she undertook her duties well and achieved a normal year of activities.
On top of that she not only designed the rotunda at the Foster Showgrounds, but in association with David Bligh put the whole thing together. She prepared the necessary plans, building permit applications, grant applications to the Shire and many site meetings carried out on her watch.
When it came to 2020/21 David was able to undertake the supervision and dealing with the builders etc. commenced by Leonie.
The Foster Rotary Club felt that Leonie more than warranted the awarding of a Paul Harris Fellowship.
Unfortunately Leonie’s health problems have prevented her from continuing with her membership of the Rotary Club of Foster and we wish her well in the future.
