Latest news from Foster’s Amateur Music & Drama Association (FAMDA)

Get into the act!

FAMDA is still seeking a young man aged in his 20s (or capable of looking as though he is) to complete the cast of A Phoenix Too Frequent for its next production, Inside Stories, a double bill of one act plays scheduled for staging in Foster for six performances between 20 and 28 July 2012.

The play’s director, David Baggallay, would love to hear from any twenty-something-year-old male who would like to play the role of a Roman soldier.

Contact David on 5664 7440.

But that’s not all!

FAMDA is hoping to stage at least one other shorter one act play for the Foster One Act Play Festival to be held on 11 & 12 August (and possibly touring to other one act play Fests).

If FAMDA knows who is interested in performing in such a project it makes it easier to choose a play to suit the available talent.

Play reading Friday 27th April

One act plays that are possible candidates for a FAMDA staging are on the menu for the play reading / social night at 7:30 this Friday, 27th April, at Linda and Larry Giddy’s home, Llarrinda, 245 O’Grady’s Ridge Road, Foster North.*

It will be an evening of fun and do-it yourself theatre with people free to choose to read without the worry of auditions or rehearsals and it’s now also a chance for aspiring actors to see if there are any roles they might be interested in playing,

There is no charge – just bring along a bottle and a plate for a shared supper.

* Linda’s directions on how to get to the play reading:

From South Gippsland Hwy, turn south at the scenic lookout sign (O’Gradys Ridge Rd.) and travel 2.45 km.

We share the driveway with ‘Grandview’, so when you see the Grandview sign, slow right down, turn left into the driveway and go straight ahead.

‘Grandview’ will be on the left – our house called ‘Llarrinda’ will be directly ahead of you.  Can’t find us?  Call 5689 1379 or 0418 637 034 and we’ll steer you in the right direction.

FAMDA issues a warm invitation to anyone who would like to get involved in its theatrical activities.  For more information about FAMDA, visit their website: www.famda.org.au
