MEMBERS of the South Gippsland Fire Brigades Group did a fantastic job of raising money across the district on Good Friday for the annual 85th Royal Children’s Hospital Appeal.
The figures raised in each district by the CFA volunteers – inclusive of proceeds from the shaking of cans and selling of raffle tickets – were $4343.35 in Foster, $4592.90 in Fish Creek, $689.45 in Meeniyan, $1835 in Welshpool, $963 in Hedley, $3607.60 in Yanakie, and $1810 in Toora.
Additional donations brought the local total to $18,549.88.
Area Manager Jan Hamilton is very grateful to members of the South Gippsland Fire Brigades Group for their commitment to raising funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Appeal and wishes to thank everyone who donated to the cause and all those who helped in the fundraising efforts.
This year, the rural and regional Good Friday Appeal collectors raised an incredible $3,605,876.
“After 85 years of fundraising for The Royal Children’s Hospital, the Good Friday Appeal is always overwhelmed by the support of generous Victorians and this year we’re thrilled to announce the 2016 fundraising total is $17,445,624,” said Anne Randall, Director of the Good Friday Appeal.
