The Social Work Department assists South Gippsland residents whose personal, economic or social wellbeing has been affected by disability or health related matters.
People come to see us when they would like to make a change of some kind. They may be seeking advice on difficulties they have dealt with in the past, or discussing their present situation and plans for the future. Always confidential – unless agreed otherwise.
- Sue Fletcher, Social Worker, visits Fosteer Hospital (Board Room) on Wednesdays 10 am – 3.30 pm.
- Hank Makris is the main Alcohol and Drug Counsellor. Tim Howard is also available. Foster appointments 9am – 5pm Tuesdays and Wednesdays
- Home visits can be arranged
Voluntary work is available in caregiving, palliative care, personal/family support, and visiting/companionship. Some voluntary activities require special training. Contact Lyn Yeomans for details on 5667 5520.
