Good burning weather in recent weeks has allowed the Department of Environment and Primary Industries, assisted by Parks Victoria and the CFA, to carry out numerous fuel reduction burns across the state, including several in Gippsland. The photo above was taken last Friday at Walkerville, scene of a 198 hectare burn. There was also a ten ha burn on the Heath Loop Track at Waratah Bay on Friday, and many more burns elsewhere in Gippsland at the weekend, including a small burn at Port Welshpool.
