THE Fire Danger Period begins next week. It will run from 1am on Monday, December 8, until 1am on May 1, 2015 – unless stated otherwise.
During the Fire Danger Period certain restrictions on the lighting of fires are in force. Residents who suspect illegal burning off during the Declared Fire Danger Period should report it to the Police on 000.
The CFA website www.cfa.gov.au provides information on what people can and can’t do during the Declared Fire Danger Period and Days of Total Fire Ban.
Information about fire restrictions within the Country Area of Victoria can be obtained from the CFA website, your local CFA District Office or Municipal Fire Prevention Officer.
