Working together towards a zero emissions community

The Energy Innovation Co-operative is a community-based environment group that operates across South Gippsland, Bass Coast and Cardinia shires.

Current Programs

  • Southern Solar Hub: An educational and supportive program for individuals, businesses, community organizations and farms across Bass Coast, South Gippsland and Cardinia shires who are interested in installing solar PV panels. Participants can take advantage of the bulk buy purchase price, expert advice as well as access support with pre and post installation.
  • Solar Hot Water bulk buy program: Available to people living within the South Gippsland and Bass Coast Shires. Participants can take advantage of the bulk buy purchase price and access to local installers.
  • Sustainable Homes Program: Supported by the Bass Coast shire and South East Climate Change Alliance (SECCA). Participants have access to a trained facilitator and educational resources and are supported to develop short and long term action plans which involve sustainable lifestyle choices. Topics covered include energy, water, waste and garden. The Co-op website lists current programs being conducted throughout Bass Coast shire.

Main Activities

  • Going Solar Information Sessions: For people interested in solar but need more information in order to make an informed choice. Check out the website for current session dates or contact the Community Engagement Officer to host a session at your workplace, community group or organisation.
  • Getting the most out of your solar system workshops: An informative Q & A session for anyone who has already installed a solar PV system. Check out the website for current session dates in Bass Coast, South Gippsland and Cardinia.
  • Members and friends Activity days: an opportunity to meet like minded people and participate in generating ideas and innovations for future Co-op activities. Check the website for current events.

Publications

  • Innovation’ – the Co-op’s quarterly newsletter available for download on the website and emailed to all current members.
  • Local Green Guide: A guide to sustainable products and services available in Bass Coast, South Gippsland and Cardinia. Advertising opportunities available for sustainable businesses. Download a copy from the website.
