The NEW BUILDING is almost finished and we are planning opening this at the Easter Trials. The building is made out of recycled timber and iron and will be a great facility during trials and training days. A place to get out of the ‘Welshpool Weather’, hang out on the verandah while watching the trials and/or relax with a beer after a day full of working dogs while the lamb roast is cooking on the fire. We still need a name for it and all ideas are welcome!
A few months ago we got contacted by Taeyong, a guy from Korea. He came over for a visit, did a Working Dog School and bought two kelpies, Beloka Jasmine and Beloka Rex. There are about 2000 sheep in whole Korea and he owned 200 of them. He wanted to do Sheep Dog Demonstrations for tourists, since that is highly populair in Asia. He had already some Border Collies, but wanted kelpies with a bit more force.
Two months later he contacted us again. His friend (owning a zoo and also doing sheep dog demonstrations) saw ‘our’ kelpies working, and wanted one as well! Taeyong came over for another visit and bought Beloka Brue. Today she will fly to Korea. We hope she will arrive safely and show the Koreans her skills and how we work the sheep here in Australia.
