A NEW agency for the Bendigo Bank, which is managed locally by the Toora and District Community Bank, will officially open next Monday, April 18, at the Welshpool Rural Transaction Centre (RTC).
Staff at the RTC, including Faye Jenkins, Linda Razinger and Madelaine Mason, are inviting the public to join them between 12 noon and 2pm on Monday for a sausage sizzle to celebrate the opening.
Faye, Linda and Madelaine will be there to help you with all your banking needs and any questions you may have.
The Bendigo Bank agency will be a welcome addition to the other services supplied by the Welshpool RTC, which include Centrelink, Medicare and other government services, V/Line coach tickets, a community café and public access to the internet and computer services.
The RTC has been an integral part of the Welshpool community since 1998, and has grown to provide employment to the community and services that were previously unavailable.
Its governing body is the Welshpool and District Advisory Group, which also runs the op shop in Welshpool.
“The RTC committee has been working hard to provide new banking services,” said the president of the Welshpool and District Advisory Group, Eddie Fowler. “Now we enter into an exciting phase for the community by partnering with the Bendigo Bank. For this venture to be successful, we invite you to open a Bendigo Bank account at the Welshpool agency. We now need your support, as we always have, in making this a success and help to keep the Rural Transaction Centre viable and maintain our high level of customer service.”
The Welshpool community already has a strong relationship with the Community Bank through the bank’s grants and sponsorship program.
Following the launch of the Bendigo Bank agency at Welshpool RTC, there will be an information evening to be held at the Welshpool Hotel on Thursday April 28 at 7.30pm. In attendance will be representatives of the RTC committee, Bendigo Bank and staff who will be happy to help and offer advice to those with extra banking needs. There will be a light supper and drinks supplied. To help with catering, if you are going to attend this important evening please call the RTC or drop in and tell the staff you will be attending.
This is a major step for Welshpool to maintain services in the town and the support of members of the local community at this function would be greatly appreciated.
