Australia Day in Corner Inlet

PREPARATIONS are well underway for a great celebration on Australia Day (Tuesday January 26).

The festivities will be centred around the grounds of the Foster Historical Museum (free entry on Australia Day) and Stockyard Gallery, with live music and plenty of fun assured – and you have the chance to win a great prize in the Great Aussie Day Flag Competition.

Flags can be made of anything and can represent anything you would like to display! There will be prizes for the winners in various age groups and there will also be a special Popular Choice award. You are welcome to bring your own existing flag or to make one on the day.

Following the official raising of the Australian Flag and the singing of the National Anthem, the local Corner Inlet awards will be presented at around 1pm.

Community groups are encouraged to come along and ‘share their wares,’ promoting any upcoming events or activities, or to conduct raffles, competitions or to display promotions on their own tables, or one can be organised for you.

Make it a date for lunch with a free barbecue, great music, drinks and Australia Day cake and enjoy a couple of hours of fun with games and socialising, together celebrating Australia’s special day.

All ages can join in the fun! Come along and celebrate how lucky we are to live in such a wonderful country, maybe win a prize in the Flag Competition, or snare a bargain, or win a raffle…….

The Foster Historical Museum and Stockyard Gallery are located near the roundabout at the corner of Main and McDonald streets, Foster.
