THE Centrelink and Medicare Agency at Manna Gum Community House in Foster is experiencing high demand for requests to obtain a COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate.
“The number of people coming to our agency has almost doubled in the last week,” said Bec Matthews, Manager of Manna Gum Community House, “we’ve had additional help from our office staff at times to reduce the waiting times for our customers.”
“Fortunately, Services Australia have responded to this situation quickly and we are now funded to temporarily open on Wednesdays from 10am-3pm as well as our usual hours until the end of November.
Customers are presenting with different issues, some people need technical assistance to start a MyGov account, others are finding that Medicare do not have up-to-date details on record and until this is resolved the Vaccination Certificate cannot be accessed.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations is free. People who are eligible for Medicare and are over 14 years of age can get their proof using a Medicare online account through MyGov or the Express Plus Medicare mobile app. People who are not eligible for Medicare can get their proof of their vaccination using the individual Healthcare Identifiers service through their myGov account.
“We can assist people to create their myGov account, link Medicare to access their Medicare online account and print their certificate. We can also assist customers with myGov linking codes. The International COVID-19 Certificate is now available for eligible people who have a current Australian passport or a foreign passport with an Australian visa and at least one COVID-19 vaccination recorded on the Australian Immunisation Register,” said Bec.
“We just ask for people’s patience while they wait as the waiting times are currently a lot longer. We’ve been advised that the demand will continue to rise for the next few weeks as more people become fully vaccinated.”
The Foster Centrelink Agency does not take appointments and is currently open Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays 10am-3pm at 33 Station Road, Foster. For further information please call 5682 1101.
