July 2026 Community Information Sessions – decommissioning of oil and gas infrastructure in Bass Strait

Woodside Energy and Gippsland Basin Joint Venture partner, Esso Australia Resources Pty Ltd are committed to the
progressive decommissioning of the Gippsland and Bass Strait facilities safely and effectively.
After delivering energy to Australia for over 50 years, many of the Bass Strait oil and gas fields have reached or are
approaching the end of their productive life. As planning for decommissioning progresses, we are focused on safely
shutting down non-producing facilities and ensuring they stay safe throughout the decommissioning process.
