IGA GIVING BACK

JUST under $10,000 was given out to nine community groups on Thursday June 29.

It is all part of a program that allows customers, using a MyIGA Card, to accumulate points when they shop at IGA Foster.

Their card gets swiped during their purchase and they get one point for every dollar spent.

Customers can either keep the points themselves or donate them to a participating not for profit organisation.

“It’s hard enough to raise money as it is nowadays,” said Manager Paul Brown. “The more we can do this, the more it can take the pressure off for them.”

The recipients of the nine cheques are South Gippsland Hospital Auxilliary, Toora Primary School, Foster Primary School, Fish Creek Primary School, Prom Coast Centres for Children, Manna Gum Community House, New Foster Skate Park, CFA and Prom Country Aged Care.

Customers are encouraged to sign up to the MyIGA program as it can result in a significant donation being made.

IGA would like to hear from any group/organisation about how a donation would benefit them or any current initiatives they may be undertaking. This can be put up on the MyIGA website
