Tree Change Discovery Day

Is country life your style?

We have 10 open properties for your to visit, to give you an insight into the joys of rural living.

If you are considering moving to the country or have you just bought your ‘tree change’ dream, South Gippsland Landcare Network invites you to visit small properties and hobby farms to benefit from the owners’ experiences.

These South Gippsland residents have already made the change, and have a wealth of knowledge and experience they are happy to share with you – about property choice, making friends, joining the community, caring for the land, making a living from a small holding, making a lifestyle on a rural block, finding work, and so much more.

The Tree Change Discovery Day properties include:

  • A hobby farm with donkeys, bees and revegetation
  • A small farm with deer and a paddock-to-plate meat marketing business
  • An olive grove plus cattle agistment
  • Native tree planting, dam rejuvenation and wildlife enticement
  • Rural lifestyle blocks where owners have made a tree change, found new jobs, new friends and a new life!
  • An owner-builder earth-constructed home

If you are interested in visiting a South Gippsland property or two and talking to the owner about country life, call Jill Vella – New Landholder Project Officer, for more information at:
