Tuesday 13 December 2011
5:30pm - 7:00pm
Location: Foster Community Health Centre | Category: Community meeting
Interested in the health of our local community?
Want to do something to help improve it?
Then join us for an initial discussion about the possibility of forming a local health promotion alliance. All groups and individuals are most welcome.
Childhood obesity has increased from 5% in the sixties to 25% today. Type 2 Diabetes rates have more than doubled in ten years. We are eating more of the wrong foods, less of the right foods, living with higher levels of stress and being far less physically active than we once were.
Working alone as individuals or as the local hospital, medical practitioner, club, business church, school, community group of service club does bring about health benefits. But, by working together we can become even more effective and improve our capacity to bring significant and lasting improvements to the health and wellbeing of our community.
The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss ways that we can further develop our work together and support each other’s efforts.
Please RSVP by December 8th or call Paul Greco for further information on 5683 9780.
