A new open cut coal mine could be on the cards for Mirboo North if an application to explore for brown coal is approved by the Department of Primary Industries.

Mantle Mining Corporation wants to explore for brown coal across a 25 km swath of farmland on the Boolara-Mirboo North Road.

Anyone interested in learning more about the impacts of such an application, or how to lodge an objection to it is invited to attend.
