Foster Community Association works in the community – with the community and for the community.
Everyone is welcome!
If you have a great idea for the progress of our community, an issue that you don’t know how to resolve, a problem that needs attention – or if you would like to work with us to help make Foster a better place to live, work and play, then please feel welcome to attend our meetings.
Some of our successful outcomes include:
- The creation of a children’s playground at the Showgrounds
- The wonderfully successful monthly Farmers’ Market
- A staffed Visitor Information Centre + free internet access
- Footpaths extended to the Hospital and Rail Trail
- Footpaths upgraded to provide disability access
- Speed limit in town reduced from 60 to 50 kph
- Expanded network of walking, cycling and riding tracks around Foster
- Bridge over Stockyard Creek rebuilt
- Longer Library hours
- … and more
We have many new projects underway, including:
- Smartening up the shabby Foster North Lookout
- Creating Foster Station Park on the old railway station land
- Reducing heavy traffic in Main Street
- Rejuvenating Foster’s streetscape
- Installing lights on Stockyard Creek Bridge, and
- Beautifying Stockyard Creek to make it a central feature of the town.
