Senator Visits Sandy Point

Senator Collins took the opportunity of her visit to Corner Inlet to tour the site of another major winner in South Gippsland Shire of federal government largesse through its stimulus package. Construction is about to begin on the Sandy Point Community Centre, which will replace the T.P. Taylor Hall and is being largely funded by a $1.295 million grant from the federal government.

Senator Collins congratulated the Sandy Point community on raising $150,000 for the project, a sum which was matched by South Gippsland Shire.

She had a look at the GHD designed plans for the centre, which is due for completion in December.
