Coastal action continues with Summer by the Sea

COASTCARE’S 2017 Summer by the Sea program began on January 2 and continues for another few weeks, with lots of free activities giving Victorians the chance to learn more about the coastal environment on their doorstep, while having fun at the same time. The program is run right across Victoria’s coastline. Here is what is scheduled for a beach near you over the next couple of weeks:

January 11

Coastal Wildlife Display, Inverloch: 10am – 4pm. Drop in to discover some of the wildlife that lives along our coast, including some live snakes and lizards, at the Bunurong Environment Centre, Ramsay Boulevard. No booking necessary. Enquiries 5674 3738

Geology Rocks, Walkerville: 3 – 5pm. Join a recognised authority on local geology and take a close look at amazing rock formations along the Walkerville coastline including faults, fossil limestone and greenstone. January 12

Estuaries Unmasked: Wreck Creek Inverloch 10.30 – 12.30pm. Ever wondered what lives below and above the Wreck Creek surface? Witness an electrofishing demonstration, and learn more about the creek and its wildlife. January 17

January 18

January 19
